It’s hard to believe it but this is the 10th annual Nicky Flowers Summer Single! I started this project way back in 2015, inspired by Anamanguchi’s summer singles they started doing in 2010. It seemed like a fun way to chart my progress as an artist as well. So here we are, the final day of summer 2024! Why’d I wait so long?

Well, I started working on the A side in the last week of June. On July 3rd, I very nearly lost my life in a terrifying car crash. I would have to say I don’t recommend getting t-boned by a maniac going 50+ mph in a residential neighborhood—0 out of 5 stars. Took some time off while I adjusted to my new body that sucks more than it used to, but I finally managed to finish the song in a way I’m happy with.

Recovery is a song that has been bouncing around my hard drive in some form for the past 3 years. This version of the tune was going to go on my EP I released in May but it ended up not really fitting in with the others. I think it’s a great B side.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me this past decade. I’m looking forward to the next one <3
